Potter Daniel Christie demonstrated the art of Raku pottery, on a spring-like November afternoon (Nov. 7) in the gallery parking lot. A crowd of art lovers and gallery patrons learned about pottery, and firing and finishing techniques. They watched spellbound as Daniel lifted the hot pots from the kiln for crash cooling, and finishing. Who would have thought that horsehair was in demand by potters, for finishing off their Raku pottery?
